I went along on this cruise very tongue-in-cheek. Having cruised the high end luxury lines, I was almost certain that this cruise was going to be a huge letdown. So I braced myself and my husband and I went along with another couple. We are in our 40s, 50s and 60s so we span a wide age range, but the Majesty of the Seas had something for everyone. We actually live not far from Miami, so getting to the Port was only a car ride away.

Check-In: RCCL has the check-in process going in one long snaking queue with about 7 agents checking people in. The check-in process went smoothly for us but better to have passports, boarding passes and all relevant papers out and ready to be shown. You are issued a SeaPass card which allows you to charge everything on board and gain entry into the cabin. From the check-in, it was a short trip up the escalator and onto the ship. I understand the Majesty has been recently refurbished and it showed. It is a very nicely decorated entranceway, clean carpeting throughout and paintings and sculptures everywhere. The dining rooms were rather plain but the cleanliness of the ship was upheld.

Cabin: We were all on Deck 4. Our cabin was very, very small but functional. We had a picture window where we could see the ship coming into the different ports every morning. We stored the luggage underneath the bed and put valuables in the safe. There are only 4 drawers in the desk, but there is plenty of shelfspace in the louver closet. Dress tends to be very casual so no reason to overpack for this cruise. There's only one formal night and dresscodes ran the gamut from gowns to simple black slacks and nice tops and/or jackets. The shower was extremely small but water pressure was terrific. There's also a full shampoo dispenser in there and two shelves to store soap, etc. We had two twin beds pushed together. The mattresses were very soft and plush. The white sheets were also very soft to touch and Carlyle tucked them in very tight. I had no trouble falling asleep -- neither did hubby.
