We took advantage of the special Royal Caribbean was having and booked a cruise on the Enchantment of the Seas. The itinerary had us sailing to Ocho Rios and Grand Cayman and since my DH and I had never traveled to either destination, we jumped at the chance. We also planned to take our two DDs (5 & 7) but we decided to keep it a secret from them. As we pulled into Port Everglades, I pointed out the ship, then turned the video camera on them as we asked if they would like to go on a cruise for a week. Disbelief, then shocked joy exploded from them. As the credit card company states in their commercials: priceless.

Boarding the ship was easy and the staff from RCI were friendly and helpful. We hurried to Chops to make reservations for my birthday and decided on the spot to eat there another night as well. Our next stop was the "My Fair Lady" dining room to check out our table, which we were happy with the location near a window.

Our interior stateroom was ready and so we settled in. Plenty of space for storage and the bed was comfy. Finally, we changed into swimsuits and enjoyed the pool deck. My DDs loved the Splash Zone (although it wasn't functioning as it should) and danced in the water spray. DH and I grabbed the Drink of the Day "Bon Voyage" which was vodka, blue curacao, pineapple juice and sour mix, I think. Tasty and pretty. The pool deck design is graceful and reminded me a bit of Disney's Tomorrowland with the side bridges and white Jacuzzi covers echoing each other's angles. Got through a painless muster then met up with my fellow CruiseCritic Enchantment 9/15/07 posters at the pool bar for a meet 'n mingle. We had decided on wearing tiaras to indicate our "membership" and it was fun hanging out with them and feeling rather "royal".
