Travel to Tampa from Atlanta, via Gainesville, was simple and uneventful. Total drive time was around 6 hrs. We were taken to the Port the day of departure by a relative around 10:30am. The drop off process was easy, and there are plenty of porters to help you with your luggage. Check-in was quick and simple, especially if you have your paperwork printed out and in order upon arrival to the port. We waited around for embarkation to begin, and we were on the ship walking around before noon.

We had a group of 16 people, and we had requested that we sit next to each other for late dinner. When we received our dinner table assignments, we were scattered among 3 different tables on 2 separate levels in the dining hall. Once onboard, a quick trip to Truffles and a talk with the Maitre'd and by the second night, we were all sitting together at 2 tables side by side. Let me also mention that the dinner servers on the ship were very attentive, helpful, and friendly. They went beyond the call of duty to ensure everyone was satisfied with their meals. They were fun, and always made us laugh and look forward to dinnertime. The food was plentiful and satisfactory but nothing to write home about. This was simply quantity over quality. None of us ever went away hungry, but the food does not compare to food that I had on RCCL. Especially the beef dishes were either under cooked or over cooked. Seems that the only 2 choices were med. rare or med. well. Nothing but kudos to all of the serving staff onboard the ship!

There were activities for everyone onboard the ship during the sea days. The casino was nice, even though it took my money, but it seemed that it always stayed very smokey. It made it uncomfortable to spend any length of time in the casino area. The bars & clubs onboard the ship was fun. Only negative is the sports bar that seemed like all that was ever showing was a spanish ESPN channel. On a Saturday college game day, with many guests from the southeast, we were limited to just 2 games from the northeast. Even the channels in the rooms were broadcast from Denver. Why on earth does a ship based in FL, with most passengers from the East coast, have to watch Denver TV stations? It would be very beneficial to have a weather channel feed onboard the ship.
