Ship Facts: SuperStar Virgo Review (by Cruise Critic!)
SuperStar Virgo - Asia
i was part of a group of Doctors(cardiologists) from India who planned a conference in Star Virgo during 23-09-07 to 26-09-07 it was 3 nights package. The embarkation procedure appeared to be a bit unorganized, long queues and each one from the staff was trained to handle just one or two steps and were not able to handle the crowd. After Boarding, the luggage handling by the staff was again a pain.many of us boarding at 3 pm got their bags at 6 PM !Towels and napkins were clearly not freshly washed they appeared to be "Recycled" i mean-same towels being dried and given back to a different cabin without actually washing them. Toilets in budget category were too small, beds were not comfortable at all. Cleanliness in the ship was reasonably good. Ambience and decoration of different areas is good and appropriate . Shopping gallery needs lots of improvement in terms of Choices being offered.Pricing can surely be made more attractive. Photographs lack vision and do not attract buyers/passengers,specifically at the price being asked for;I mean about the photos being clicked by photographers on the board without our buying obligation. Shows being offered surely DO ENTERTAIN,bands are OK

The biggest problem area is the SECURITY !!If you are cautious about your belongings, it's OK but the moment you lose site of your electronic goods and clothes they just vanish!Reporting to security is of no use.If someone deposits your ,cay lost camera ,to the reception, then you will surely get it back BUT if someone wants to keep it for himself the Security is Just not interested in catching the thief !In fact security protects the thieves !I will show you how. I kept my camera bag with my Canon Powershot S31S on table no 16 in Mediterranean Restaurant,I was there from 8PM to 10 PM on 25-09-07,during my dinner someone took away my camera.I reported the matter immediately to Security who was only prompt in writing the report and handing me over the xerox copy of the report.Next full day on 26-09-07 I kept on telling them that during those two hours only our group of ICC doctors was present in the hall I may be allowed to see the recordings of the CCTV camera which was bang in front and above my table and we will catch the thief & if someone from my group has committed the theft then only I can recognize the person's identity.Once everyone of the group goes out from the ship, It will not be possible to catch the thief, because group members were from different parts of India.BUT security ,in the name of Procedural policies refused to allow me.They were not ready to announce even, that someone has lost his costly camera, saying that It will embarrass others!!.To keep the "majority" happy and unaware of the presence of thieves and silly securitymen they were sacrificing an Individuals rights to protect his own property> MY RIGHTS TO PROTECT ,RECOVER AND REGAIN my costly belongings were INTENTIONALLY sacrificed by the Security people. Procedures of surveillance, which needed the review of just two hours of recordings were not followed and completed in time ,as a result the thief went safely out from the ship, with my belongings>a willful and Intentional act of permitting the stolen goods being taken out safely!

They do not know "English" as a "language",a language has components of sensitivities, emotions etc. but the staff is all a bunch of ROBOTS who only know few lines to speak and few words to utter, like Thank You,OK,and two liners on the part of services for which they are trained, they have no thinking brains! No capability of improvising their services as per the needs and requirements of the situation. Captain comes on the Deck to pose for some Photos on Third day, with the passengers, but no further passenger friendly gesture is available.A bad administration to me is one where even if minority numbers are dissatisfied from your services. In this cruise they will allow few people to suffer but they will not allow anything which can bring down their Image of being a Big and successful extravaganza on the sea, which It is not. Many like me came out after having their goods lost for the recovery of which, security people make NO ACTIVE EFFORT at all!
