We sailed the Eastern Med from Sep. 9-17 on the Costa Serena. We had a wonderful time.We were picked up promptly at the airport by Costa representatives, boarded a bus and arrived at the port. Embarkation was slow, however, we waited 2 hours to board. Our balcony stateroom on the 8 level was great. It had a queen size bed, couch, and had more storage room than we could use. The ship was very quiet at night. Our cabin steward, Oscar, was always available. Dinner in the Ceres dining room was wonderful. We were seated with 3 other couples, two from the states, and one from Ireland. We enjoyed their company as well as the food very much. Our servers couldn't have been better ( or more fun ) Albert and Reynosa were very professional, as well as fun. One night we all danced to Italian songs, had a Conga line around the dining room, and servers had their own lip-synced acts that were hilarious. We enjoyed the shows, they weren't maybe first rate all the time, but entertaining nonetheless. The ship's decor was a little over the top, like Vegas, but the ship itself had an intimate feel for being so large. The personnel everywhere on board were very kind and helpful. We didn't take any ship excursions, did private ones, but I heard that they were very good. Disembarkation was a breeze. We would recommend a cruise on the Costa Serena.
