First off we booked this cruise when we received an email from Princess with greatly reduced rates. We booked an outside cabin for $499 plus taxes. Great price. Although there were a few minor glitches, overall this could be one of the best cruises we have taken. (This was our fifth Princess cruise, we have also sailed Royal Caribbean three times and once on Celebrity). It was not the ports that made it so good although they were very nice, Newport, Boston, Maine, Saint John and Halifax. It was the food and service that made it special. Whether in the Horizon court the Caribe cafe or in the dinning room it was excellent day in and day out. We also dined in Sabatini's and that was excellent also. Now I am not saying every morsel of food was great but 95% of it was. We were told by our Maitre'd that they had a new chef on board and new menu that they try on this ship. And if it was a success then they would use this menu for the whole fleet. Two thumbs up. As far as the service I will have to say that just about to a person the entire crew was friendly and with a smile. Our cabin steward Allen was very nice did a great job. For dining we had anytime and after the first night we really enjoyed our waiter Elmer and we made reservations everynight with him. Even though we wanted different times it was no problem. We ate at 7, 7:30 and 8, no problem they accommodated our whole party and there were 10 of us. As far as the ship itself, it was very nice and huge, 19 decks. Not easy to find the upper walking track but other than that no problems. It was actually much nicer to use the promenade to walk as it went around the whole ship. There were 3500 strong on board but was not really crowded except for the main shows a few nights and maybe one time in the casino. As far as the entertainment, some good some not so. The ships crew were very good as were some of the club shows. Spank was awesome and we also enjoyed a singer named Clarilynn (can't remember her last name). That will be it for this review, overall an excellent adventure. I did not mention tours because we did all on our own. We did reserve Ollie's Trolley for the Acadia tour by phone about a week before we departed. That was very nice.
