Carnival Miracle - Eastern Caribbean
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: New York (Manhattan)
Embarkation: two words "long process". The cruise line is great in all areas except this. They need to take a lesson from the airline industry to speed the process along.
Room: We has an inside room on deck 7. Nice, it's all you need unless you plan on hanging out in the room.
Staff: Excellent, helpful, just ask and they deliver. Don't be a afraid to ask for anything. Tip: Give you room steward a tip at the start of cruise.
Activities: More than you can count.
Food: The main dining room. Very good, plenty to pick from. If you want two meals, just say the word, they will bring it. Portions are moderate, so ask for more.
Supper Club: Nick and Nora's - You have to do it. Pay the $30 per person. The experience is NYC 5 Star. One of the top 5 dinners we've ever had. Service is beyond compare.
San Juan: Not a whole lot to More do. Did some shopping and a tour of El Mouro Castle. We were not on the island long enough to explore a lot.
St Thomas: Bling capital of the planet. Great deals to be found, but plan on plenty of time for shopping. Get off the ship early, before the tours go and take a cab to Coki Point beach, (15 min ride) spend 1/2 day on the beach and snorkel, has to be seen to believe.
Tortola / Virgin Gorda: Take the tour ferry to Virgin Gorda ($158) per couple. (25 min ride) Skip the hike down the normal trail at the Baths. Take the other trail directly to "Devils Bay" beach, you won't be disappointed. Best beach I've every seen.
Shows: Were good, not great, but nice.
cruise Director: Within a few weeks Josh (Big Sexy) will be named as the new Director. This guy is the best, hands down. He has truly found his calling and it shows.
Sportbar: Stinks. They have a lot of screens, but no games. The only day we saw live action was Sunday when they had NFL games. They gave some excuse about the satellite they use. They do get local channels from Denver, CO. ??
Fountain Card: get it $50 but use can use it as many times as you need and it's nice to mix with whatever you bring on board.
Pictures: They take more than you can imagine.
Bottom Line: Would go back again without question. Very pleased Less
