We stayed in a hotel the night before the cruise near the airport (Dulles) The airport went very smoothly. Took off on time and a very smooth ride. We arrived in Miami and went right for the taxi. He didn't understand English so he stopped at another ship. We said no, Triumph and he drove us there. We were the first people to put our luggage on their big luggage holders. We were there around 9:30 and were let onboard around 11:00 am. We went to the front desk and got free cards. You can get a Capers here any day if you lose yours. We went right to the Lido and ate. We didn't eat till then so we were hungry. The food was great. We walked around the ship and got to see the different areas. We got into our room around 1 pm. Our luggage came in 3 different deliveries. By the time we got the room settled it was time to do the drill and sail away. The muster drill was a lot of fun. My friend (who is pretty busty) said they aren't made for people with busts and everyone laughed. She looked like it was an extension of her chin, straight out front. We all had a good laugh.

The meals were mostly great. There was one seafood dish that the scallops tasted grainy and so did the shrimp. Overcooked. There was another Mexican type dish that I didn't eat. Poor me, I didn't order something else even though I could. I felt the need to not eat for a change. The NY deli, the Noodle company, the pizzeria and the grill were all excellent. The lobster was not overcooked like I have heard from other threads. It was tasty. Despite the offer for more, I said no. I felt like a beached whale sometimes. I was raised to clean my plate. It is so hard to not hear those words when I know I am full. The waiters and waitresses did a show up on the serving stands for us on two nights. It was a lot of fun. The service was wonderful. We were at a table with 6 family members and they were the greatest.

Our room steward was not very good. I thought maybe my first experience was just exceptionally good but found out that most stewards are excellent. We didn't talk to our steward until day 3. He didn't do our room one day, no beds made, no new towels, no towel animal, and no Capers. We called to get the Capers, how can you live without that. After we talked to him, he did figure out we were there and did keep us supplied with ice, clean towels, towel animals and clean sheets. I would suggest talking to them the first day and let them know what you expect.
