Well, I'm back. Sadly. I begged Ana (our room stewardess) to stay, however she told me the only way I could do that was to take her place and she would take mine. Hmmm. Oh well.
My friend and I were dropped of at the pier at 1PM. We both live approximately 25 minutes from the Port of Galveston, so there was no hotel involved in our stay. We are 2 females ages 40 and 33. This was my 9th cruise, 3rd on the Ecstasy. It was her 3rd cruise, 1st on the Ecstasy. We were booked in U70, which is a suite, which provided us with a "VIP" check in. This was an excellent service as We were on the ship about 20 minutes after we were dropped off curbside.
We went directly to the cabin. The room was Beautiful, but the pictures really make them look about 2 times the size they really are. There was PLENTY of storage without even needing to use the area under the bad. That's saying a lot considering I bring so much luggage. There is adequate mirror and counter space. A nice flat screen TV, and a refrigerator, which is located inside a cabinet on the floor. The bathroom is smaller than expected, but still larger than a standard room, plus there is a very clean Jacuzzi bath. Although I had high hopes for using this, it only happened once. We were just too busy. If you can take one piece of advice then let it be this: BRING YOUR OWN EXTENSION CORD! Who ever thought that 2 girls could make it in 1 cabin with only one outlet was insane. There was an outlet in the bath but it was on the ceiling and wouldn't fit any prongs on my hair dryer or Chi iron. I ended up having to pull the bed out every night and using the one and only other plug to which I had to unplug the nightstand lights just to do my hair.
