This was our 8th cruise with Princess and it was the best. All of the others, with the exception of number 7 (Far East), were very good. Captain Marco Fortezze understands the Princess ambiance and his leadership was seen throughout the ship. The food was excellent. The accommodations and steward service were excellent. Embarkation was flawless. Disembarkation, however, reached near crisis levels thanks to the ineptitude of our U.S. Customs and Immigration. The Immigration check took ten seconds! Yet everyone had to endure the long wait for that ten second head nod. Any time dining was a pleasure. We reserved two seats at a four-place table and were blessed with interesting people at the other two seats every evening. The buffet upstairs was always excellent. In everything they did, the Dawn Princess crew made you feel welcome. The only fault I found was in the stage entertainment and the atrium entertainment. The stage shows had the quality of high school productions. The comedian was a bore, and in place of humor intimidated the audience. The hypnotist put on a show that can only be described as obscene. He had 14 people zonked out on the stage in various obscene poses. It was terrible. The singer who appeared for a couple of shows was a complete loser. Apparently, all he ever wanted in life was to be a Jerry Lewis impersonator. and all he never achieved in life was to be a Jerry Lewis impersonator. He was stupid, boring and pathetic. On the bright side, the Fantasy Duo in the Wheelhouse was magnificent. Had they been paired with the Princess band they would have provided a great stage show. Entertainment in the atrium consisted of a string quartet that played their instruments well but knew nothing of entertainment. The same goes for the lady who played the piano there. She played as if she had been sentenced to do so. Overall, a great cruise!
