We sailed on the Golden Princess on August 11. Overall, I would say it was a great trip, primarily because the weather was exceptional—70 + degrees every day, sunny and amazingly clear -and the itinerary was good. We liked all of the ports and thanks to CC, planned some great excursions. As I posted in another spot, we did a kayak trip, whale watch in Juneau (wonderful personalized trip with Harv and Marv) with a quick evening trip to Mendenhall; rented a car from Avis in Skagway and drove the Klondike Highway with magnificent scenery; a floatplane trip in Ketchikan with Island Wings—spectacular-- and saw the Titanic exhibit in Victoria. Cruising Tracy Arm was probably my favorite day because the views around every corner were so gorgeous. I took a million pictures.

As for the ship, I would rate it as good, but not great. I had some major complaints and a few compliments. We had a quad cabin, and as CC'ers suggested, we asked for egg crates for the upper bunks which were hard as rocks. Our cabin steward, although very pleasant, gave us horrible service. I had to track him down to get anything and several things never got resolved. We never got replacement bath towels (not even once a day) and I had to either find a housekeeping cart and take them myself each day, or complain multiple times to the purser's desk. We were given an order form for fresh fruit to be delivered daily. I filled it out and we never got it in seven days, despite several requests to both the steward and the purser's desk. The egg crates came after several requests. The beds were always made up but that was it. The cabins had lots of storage and we were all able to unpack easily.

Embarking and disembarking was very quick and easy. We were off the ship with our own luggage in Seattle in less than 30 minutes.
