Let me preference these comments with the fact we were older (55yrs) first time cruisers. Over all though the ship board functions ran smoothly you get the impression it is all a big show to get you on board to sell you everything and anything the management can think of. A small bottle of water handed to you is $2.25 plus automatic 15% gratuity. Stateroom service was good however we had a problem with our room lock at 1:0O am one evening (yes old people do stay up late) an hour later after being unable to get help form either room service number (no answer after many rings on several tries) or front desk (they would send someone who never showed) I made three trips to the front desk to be issued new pass cards (two) when these did not work desk staff came down with me being unable to open the door themselves they eventually arranged to have a person with a manual pass key open the jammed lock. Now had there been a stateroom attendant on duty or if the front desk staff would have surmised I know when my pass card is not working and sent someone with another card to evaluate the problem this would not have been a big deal but sitting on the floor of a hallway in formal clothes for an hour with people stepping over you while waiting for responses from non existing service people is not a pleasant even and not a nice cruise experience. On another service note the ringer on our phone was not working (yes I did check to see if the ringer was turned up) and though we reported it twice it never was fixed so we were unable to call each other in the room for the duration of the trip. The moral of the story is when there are over 900 staff 198 (as noted in their literature )who are drink collectors i.e. staff who collect your money for premixed drinks, it would be to much to expect a couple of front desk staff on duty one of which could come and help you on a problem. Other things of note, pools way to small with cold salt water less swimming more drinking. Music was very loud Latin beat most of the time. No shaded areas only full sun. Food and wait service was very good in main dinning rooms fair to poor in self service area. Though there are smoking and non smoking areas there seemed to be smoke drifting by everywhere. State room were nice, nothing special. We were mid deck mid ship very stable with not much inner room noises. Large outside cabin window was nice. The bath and shower area was larger then I expected. Entertainment on board was above average, main theater to very small for the number of people on board, 2200+. You have to get there early and sit though bingo to have a good seat. Or is it they have the bingo games knowing they have a captive seat holding audience before the show so best make a buck. There are many other areas where bingo could be staged for those who enjoy bingo but then at $10 per game card it may take a captive audience.

So great cruise if you are looking for a carnival atmosphere, like crowds, loud music, wish a constant bombardment of environment stimuli, with average service and quality of hospitality being forced on you. If you are wishing for a relaxed kickback, self motivated cruise with quality service and entertainment in the back ground when you wish for or need it then look elsewhere. One cruise line can not meet everyone's needs even though they like to present themselves that way.
