Living just thirty-five minutes away from the Port of New Orleans was definitely a plus to my vacation. Once I got to the port, parking was a breeze at $70.00 for this five night cruise.

Embarkation was just as easy. We arrived at at about 12:30pm and even with more than a hundred people in line ahead of us, we were still aboard the ship by 1:15pm. The atmosphere at the entrance really set the mood for the start of a wonderful vacation.

Upon entering our stateroom, we discovered there was a queen bed with me traveling with my teenage son. Within ten minutes, a knock on the door gave us our first visit from our stewart (RAJ). I advised him the bedding would not be appropriate and he told me this would be resolved by the time I returned from having lunch on the Lido deck. Sure enough, we returned to two separate beds and all the stuff my son and I through around was picked up. In addition, with the heat of the day having ice in place in the room was greatly appreciated. Even though the stateroom was fairly close to the elevator, we were not disturbed throughout the cruise. We were not easily able to hear noises from outside the stateroom. Besides, with the ship gently rocking me to sleep and this being the first time in more than four years of getting any decent sleep it would have been hard for me to be disturbed.
