Well we thought we would give Carnival another chance and boy did they blow it. We wanted to take our granddaughter for a 4 day cruise to the Bahamas so we found a cruise on the Sensation which was doubtful because a year and a half ago we were one of those passengers who had to sit in the terminal for 9 hours while they repaired the seals on the doors and windows. It was on CNN at the time, we swore we would never do Carnival again but since their the Fun Ship we decided to give them another chance. We cruised on the 5th of August and we checked in with the VIP person, their computer systems weren't up so she took all the info down gave us our cards and went to our stateroom. We stayed in the Penthouse U111 which was really nice I have to say but the ship hadn't improved much at all. It still smelled of sewage and was dusty, the walls (Purple!) in the whole ship were all scratched but our granddaughter was thrilled so that was fine with us. The second day of the cruise I ordered a sandwich from room service and a pop, was told I could have all the food I wanted but I couldn't have the pop because my Carnival Gold Card was declined. My husband went to talk to the purser and talk about rude, they had a few words and my husband was basically told that their system had a problem with our credit card but it wasn't their problem it was ours! That didn't go over very well at all, since my husband is a computer systems person he knew better. He called his credit card company in front of the purser and found out there was nothing wrong with the credit card and the purser also talked to the credit card company and was told that our card was fine but that didn't matter to her at all, she still refused to do anything. I went and talked to her and got into it with her and she told me that if I wanted to put cash down on my Carnival card I could use it and I told her I don't carry that much cash with me for all the stuff you can do on the ship, pictures, drinks, gifts, jewelry etc. She basically said tuff, she would let me get money off my credit card and apply it to the Carnival Card but I said no way, you start paying interest on the cash advance the instant you get it. She didn't care one way or the other, she said it was our problem, I was pissed off because I couldn't even buy my granddaughter a can of pop much less anything else. I threw $80 on the desk and she put it on the card. That night we received 4 free drink cards and a letter. The following day it was fixed. Gee, why couldn't it have been fixed right away, she kept insisting she couldn't do anything with the computer system that our card was bad. If it was bad why would she let me get a cash advance on it. Didn't understand that at all. She was one of the rudest people I've ever dealt with on a cruise before and I've cruised just about every line but Carnival won't get our business anymore.

The meals were just okay, they were better in the past but at least they had the Alternative choices in the main dining rooms. Our wait staff was excellent. Our cabin steward was one of the best we've ever had, he did everything to make our stay enjoyable.

We loved the karaoke in the Plaza Lounge, my granddaughter got up there 3 different nights to sing and everyone was so nice to her. The 80's show was the best show we saw but we went to see a show (movie) and the screen was up on the Sun deck, it was hard to see with all the flags in your line of vision and it was also hard to hear unless you wanted to sit right in front of it.
