Just returned home from another wonderful Carnival Cruise! This time aboard the Triumph - we've previously cruised on Carnivals Victory, Pride, and now Triumph as well as RCCL Nordic Empress, Monarch of the Seas, Song of America and Enchantment of the Seas. We took the entire family (12 in all - ages 50 down to 3) and had a marvelous time!

Embarkation: An absolute piece of cake - and we added our son's girlfriend a scant 2 weeks before we sailed - since she was under 21, and not a member of our family, we had to do some mad scrambling to change rooms around so an adult over 25 was in her cabin. Even with these 3 changes it took us less than 45 minutes to get on board. Just make sure you've got proper documentation, and fill out the online info form.

THE SHIP: The Triumph is a few years old, and is starting to show her age in some ways...HOWEVER...she is absolutely beautiful from stem to stern! The main entertainment theater - the Rome Lounge - is beautiful with only a few obstructed seats. That's no problem either, just slide a bit to your left or right and all is well. The dining rooms - Paris and London - are beautifully decorated, and the food was very good. Not quite the excellent that RCCL serves, but very good. A few members of our party did not care to have what was on the menu a couple of nights and just asked for a New York Strip - which was served perfectly done and with a smile. Our waiter - Carlos and his assistant, Armondo were very good, and paid quite a bit of attention to our granddaughters - aged 9 & 3.
