My husband and I traveled on NCL Star from July 28-Aug 4, 2007. We were on this cruise for a mini GGHS class reunion. We were traveling with 4 other couples approx. 50yrs young. This was our 8th cruise and a few others had cruised once before and one couple had never cruised at all! We flew into SEA-TAC on Thursday before our cruise to visit with some friends. We toured Seattle and had a great time at Pike's Market and the Space Needle. If you get a chance to go a few days earlier than your cruise, you should. There is so much too see there. We embarked on Saturday and what a breeze it was! We dropped off our luggage around 12:00, got our sea-cards and explored a little more around the harbor. When we returned around 2:30, there was quite a long line to board. Since we had already checked in, we were told to enter door 4 were there was no lines and we quickly were on the ship and in our stateroom. We knew that the Versailles was open for lunch and just as we had read on this board, there was no one there! We sat next to a window and had a nice, relaxing lunch. 30 minutes before the ship pulled away, we had the dreaded muster drill! This had to be the fastest drill we have ever done. 5 minutes tops and we were off to the top deck for the sail away party. I can't imagine anyone not having fun with all the music, food and happy staff. We didn't spend too much time on deck because we were meeting the rest of our group at a meeting room off of the Spinnaker Lounge. When we got together, we decided to try to get dinner reservations for 10 each night. We wanted to try a couple of the specialty restaurants and some of the free ones also.

Dinning. We had dinner in the Versailles twice. Very nice. More elegant than the Aqua. The waiters were very friendly and because there were 10 of us, it might have taken a little longer, but we didn't notice. We were having too much fun catching up and laughing! We had dinner one night in the Aqua. Here we did the Murder Mystery Dinner! You must sign up for this! We had a blast. We ate at Cagney's Steak House one evening and it also was very good. Great Prime Rib! Service was very good here, also. (This one has a $20pp cover). We ate at Soho one evening. This was not very good. My least favorite by far. Slow service and the food was not very good. We ate at La Tattoria and again had a great dinner and great staff. Our last night we all had dinner at Tappanyaki. What a great way to end our trip! Great food, great show and great friends! The only time we had a problem with reservations was for Tappanyaki. They only seat 12 people at a time and it fills up FAST! So if you want this, do it early. (It's worth it)

Ship. WOW! This is a nice ship. Very clean and well kept. I got lost a few times and discovered a new place! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our stateroom was balcony on the 9th floor. If you can afford to splurge, get a balcony! We actually spent a lot of time out there. The views are amazing and it makes the room seem larger! There was plenty of space for luggage and a large bathroom! It actually had a shower with a door and not a curtain. We loved it. Our room was made up everyday and towel animals 3 times.
