We cruised on the Victory at the end of July/start of August. This was our third cruise on Carnival, with previous trips on the Jubilee and the Elation, both out of Galveston.
We arrived to board at about 1:15 and found embarkation to be smooth with minimal waiting. It was a great improvement over the Port of Galveston.
Our inside cabin was located midship on deck 2 and was great for minimizing motion. Because we were traveling with two children, we were interested in avoiding seasickness, if possible, so we declined upgrades to higher decks that were not mid-ship. The cabin was large and held all 4 of us comfortably, with our older daughter in a Pullman berth that came from the ceiling and our baby in a ship-provided crib. Carnival has upgraded the mattresses and bedding, which were thick and comfortable. Although the cabin was large, we felt like there was a lack of drawer storage space, which we resolved by hanging things like jeans in the closet.
