First off, this is a beautiful ship. This was my first cruise and I must say that the designers of this refurbishment did an excellent job. Every public room had a touch of class and all the staterooms had the new bed sheets which were very comfortable. I traveled with several family members who had cruised before and they mentioned that the bed sheets they were used to sleeping on felt more like sand paper. I would definitely recommend this ship to everyone. I did a lot of research before booking the cruise and I think it paid off well.

With that said, we sailed out of Port Everglades in Ft. Lauderdale. We drove to the port the night before and stayed at the Renaissance Hotel. The hotel is 2 minutes from the port, with several restaurants, a Walgreens, liquor store, and other amenities that one may need in walking distance. The hotel itself was a little under par for being such a high rated Marriott Hotel. We walked over to the Embassy down the street, which was much much nicer. It had an indoor atrium, a bar, restaurant and bigger pool. For a cheaper rate, I think if I went again, I would stay at the Embassy.

From the outside, the Enchantment may look small and a little dated. But once you board the ship, it is a completely different story. The ship is beautiful. The architectural detail and workmanship of the refurbishment make the ship a continuous place of eye candy. Even the bathrooms are new and updated. The pool deck is awesome, with the suspension bridges spanning either side of the deck, you get a great view of the water or the port from any angle.
