Sail Date: Jul 2007

My wife and I have sailed on the Majesty of the Seas 3 times before but not since it's refit. Having been on the Sovereign since it's refit I had a good idea what to expect. Hats off to RCI. The Majesty's remodel has had more of an impact on the ship's facilities.

We live in South Florida, so we decided to arrive at the Port of Miami late (after 2.30pm). That was a mistake. This embarkation harkened back to the old days at the Port of Miami when it took long lines and a lot of patience to embark. This embarkation was not good. The lines were slow and long. This was largely due to the large Argentinean groups that all arrived together. In addition a lot of the agents did not speak very good Spanish. This combined for a long wait. The priority embarkation line was not clearly marked and so everybody seemed to go wherever they could. We have cruised many times so this will not affect my opinion of a cruise, but I hope that somebody took notes and makes adjustments.

The Majesty looks great with new carpet, materials, and drapes and new equipment, flooring and furnishings. we were truly impressed. It is hard to make a 15 year old ship look new but RCI has come close.
