We drove to Miami from OH,with teenagers! Crazy, but we stopped to visit family on the way. We had a group of 15 on the cruise including 3 families with a total of 6 parents, 2 grandparents, and 7 teenagers ranging in age from 15 to 18. We all met up at a hotel near the Miami airport- Sleep Inn, which was nice and a short drive to the port. We dropped our luggage off at the port and our wait for embarkation was pretty short- about 45 minutes. The lady checking us in was pretty slow- the rest of our group was done and waiting on us for about 5-10 minutes and she never even looked at our birth certificates! Somehow she got our son checked in on our friends room (they have the same first name and we all booked through the same agency) and we didn't catch the mistake until the end of the cruise.
We booked the lowest level cabin and were bumped up to a level 8- nice surprise! All the rooms (still inside cabin) are basically the same, but we were one level away from the Lido deck. The rooms were nice and bathrooms roomy and plenty of closet space and storage room.
We never had breakfast in the dining room, preferring to just grab something from the buffet or an omelet, but some of our party did sit down and enjoyed the breakfast there. I would have preferred some more variety of fruits at breakfast, like strawberries, pineapple, etc. instead of always just melon, but I'm not a big breakfast person, so I was fine.
