My wife and I, who are in mid-40's, cruised for the first time ever on the Majesty of the Seas. This was our "test" cruise to see if we like the concept, since there may a be family cruise in our future. There were pluses and minuses, but right off the bat, let me say if you're in our age group and looking to give a cruise a try this would be a good one to use.

We used the on-line registration, so getting on board was quick and easy. Once on board, we had a positive first impression from the main lobby/atrium. It gave me the feeling of a good quality hotel in a major city. We were able to maneuver around the ship very easily and there's plenty of signs to direct you so you know the place like the back of your hand in no time. We were a little concerned when we saw one pool was empty the other was half empty with green water, but we later learned they refill and clean them overnight so they are ready to go the next A.m. the balance of the trip. We didn't use them much because of large groups of teens who were on board, but we were fine with other options.

It's true about the closet size staterooms. If you're claustrophobic, this is not for you. I compared them to the Microtel inn hotel chain, but since you probably will only be in your room for sleeping, naps, changing clothes, and showers that shouldn't be a big deal. The beds were comfortable, again not unlike what you would find a moderately prices, mid range hotel chain.
