Having recently returned from 14 nights aboard the Navigator of the Seas we are already thinking about another cruise with Royal Caribbean. This time we will steer clear of not only English school holidays but remember that Scotland and Ireland finish school 2 weeks before England. There were some 700+ children on the ship. Not that they bothered us - except waiting for lifts which they seemed to enjoy pressing buttons in. The staff on board Navigator are superb, our state attendant (Eliza) was wonderful. We had a cabin with a balcony and enjoyed sitting relaxing. The excursions were incredibly well organized - although our guide in Rome could have been better.
Embarkation and disembarkation was smooth. The shows were very good, the ice show was incredible. We were on the late sitting for dinner, this would not have been a problem except for 1 lady on our table, who practically every meal sent at least one course back (our poor waiter - he bent over backwards but he could do nothing right for her) I was on a low fat diet !!! and they even ensured I had blackberries every night for sweet (I only asked once) Of course the lady then wanted them with English custard. This was the only down side to our holiday, as obviously meals took a long time and it was sometimes 10.50 p.m. when we left the restaurant. We visited the Italian restaurant (cover charge) one evening and it was incredible I urge everyone to try it. Bay of Biscay was awful going out but smooth on our return. Will I travel from Southampton again - i am unsure, but certain of one thing I will cruise with Royal Caribbean again. Cleanliness was superb.
