Alaska is the most spectacular place we've ever seen! Others told us nothing will ever compare to this cruise and it's oh so true. The Island Princess is a lovely ship and we like the "smaller" (?) ships. Cabin was clean, dining room and cabin stewards were pleasant and efficient. We also had dinner one night at the Bayou alternative restaurant. Food was OK and plentiful, but wouldn't do it again. This trip was our sixth cruise; first with Princess.

Embarkation went smoothly even though we left the East Coast at 6:00 AM; arrived on time in Vancouver, painless customs process and bus ride to the port; on the ship in no time at all - probably less than 2 hours from the airport to the ship. If traveling to the ship on embarkation day we would recommend checking out the US Direct program at the airport to get through Customs.

Food was consistently good in the dining room, but Royal Caribbean and Carnival get higher ratings from us. Of course the desserts were fabulous.
