This was our fifth vacation with Royal Caribbean. Like the others , we were very satisfied. The Grandeur of the Seas is in good shape. Clean and lots of glass for viewing. If you look close you can tell she is 11 yrs old. But this didn't stop us from a great cruise on a smaller ship.

The activities on board were mostly the same as our last bookings, bingo, horse race, The Quest, legs contest etc. As always, all were fun! Our Cruise Director, Simeon , kept everyone going with his " oh yea" . Seeing him on board through out the trip was good. Captain Rob made his daily announcements with humor and useful information. We made it a point to listen each time he spoke. The crew was the most relaxed we have seen yet.

Our shore excursions included trolley tours and lots of shopping. The tour to Acadia Park and Cadillac Mt. is a must. The shoreline is worth the trip itself. Other than a small 15 minute wait to tender at Bar Harbor, getting to port went well. We were greeted with bagpipes at St. John as we docked. Very nice! We visited the Reversing Falls during our tour and were given plenty of photo opts from our guide. Next stop was Halifax and more bagpipes as we docked. Standing on our balcony, we cheered with the others as we all viewed a greeting from our Canadian Hosts. We visited The Citadel Historical Park. If you go , give yourself at least an hour to see this place. Well worth the stop. We then hopped on , hopped off the double decker buses, as we did our own "pub tour" that included stops at Duffys Speakeasy, Cheers, Five Fisherman, Maxwells Plum and a tour through Keiths Brewery. What a day. Not much time in Boston, but managed another tour that included stops at Boston Common, Fenway Park,Cheers, Charles St.,and Quincey Market. Most were just photo stops. Dining Room Service was the best we have experienced of all past RC cruises. We had a 6 pm early seating at table #34. Our waiter Dameion was fantastic. Just getting the food to us in a timely matter was not all he did, he also kept us entertained with tricks and jokes. Our 10 yr old daughter was always served first and was treated to a special Birthday Desert by the Head Waiter Tony on the last night of the cruise. The Great Gatsby Dinning Room overall made us look forward to our next nights visit. The Windjammer Buffet was nice and there was a good variety. Breakfast and lunch were the only time we ate there. We are used to large ships and this is where the difference would show. Seems like everyone was in the "jammer" all at once. There were times where we wandered around waiting for someone to finish a meal so we could sit down. Outside seating got to be windy and somewhat cooler somedays.
