Sail Date: Jul 2007

I've been in the travel industry for over eight years now, 6 1/2 doing government travel and the last 19 months doing leisure travel and this was my first experience with Royal Caribbean. After selling the Grandeur to clients for the past year and a half and doing a tour onboard her last year, it was so nice to finally sail on her. Thanks to a great agent rate, my wife and I were able to experience our first balcony cabin, and now I'm afraid, I'm a balcony snob. Leaving from Baltimore was great, about a 90 minute drive from our home in western Maryland and once we got to the port it only took 15 minutes from driving in to walking onboard the ship.

My wife uses a wheelchair and the crew could not have been more accommodating to her. We had breakfast on our balcony the first morning, ate breakfast three times in the Windjammer, and once in the Main Dining Room. We ate two lunches in the Windjammer and one in the Dining Room. All our dinners except for the one night in Bermuda were we ate onshore were on the Great Gatsby Dining Room. The food and service were wonderful. Willie are waiter and Flora our assistant waiter were superb and they will be remembered fondly.

Our cabin attendant Leif did a wonderful job, since it was close to our six year anniversary, I paid to have our room decorated and it was very nice. Entertainment was great. Can't say much about the casino, only spend $3.00 and didn't do the disco or any dancing so can't talk about them.
