We sailed on June 24, 2007. To start I was traveling with my husband & family & friends. We had a group of 10 with 5 cabins. This is our 12th cruise.
Friday night: We took the red eye from LA to San Juan. No real problems with flight. We arrived to find all of our luggage (what a relief) and we were in a Taxi within about 25 minutes. We arrived at the Old San Juan Sheraton around 11:00 am and were pleasantly surprised to find all of our rooms ready. Did a walking tour of San Juan had lunch and relaxed. My daughter and her friends took a taxi $20 to Isle Verde and had a nice day at the beach.
Sunday - Embarkation: We walked our luggage over to the pier from the Sheraton at about 11:30 am. Porters were there to take the luggage and we were inside the terminal in less than 10 minutes. We had VIP check in and it was a breeze. Very fast, efficient employees who processed our 3 cabins in less than 15 minutes. We then proceeded to the Duty Free Shops!! Ahhhh what a deal. We purchased 5 bottles and a couple of cartons of cigarettes for less than $100. After we were done there the first group of passengers were allowed to board and I would say we were probably the first 20 people on the ship. We went directly to our cabins to put down our carryon and then to the dining room to try to adjust our dinnertime. All of us had the late dining with the exception of 2 in our party. The maitre d assured us he would find a table for 10 for us. We were to come back the next night.
