We got married on Saturday June 23rd on the beach in Galveston, and our cruise on the Ecstasy was our first, and our honeymoon. We traveled on the cruise with my new wife's parents, also their first cruise.

The ship was 4 hours late to port on debarkation day. We arrived at Lighthouse Parking around noon, and we had pre-paid for our week online. Had no trouble, and a bus was waiting on us to take us to the terminal. We dropped our bags off and proceeded through the lines to get onto the ship. We were on board around 2:00 and went to the Lido deck to have lunch while we waited on our room to be ready. By 2:30 rooms were ready and we unpacked our carry on stuff. We toured the ship and found our dining room. We had all but one of our bags by about 5:30 and we dressed for dinner. We ate in the Windstar, 6:15 seating. Our server John, was tremendous. Very friendly, did a great job. The food all week was good. I have been to better restaurants, but it must be difficult to serve so many meals in such a short period of time. There was always food available somewhere on the ship. The chocolate melting cake was very good, but I think the Bitter and Blanc was even better! I had both one night!

Our room steward was great. Any time that we came back to our room, we always had fresh towels. The towel animals at night were neat too. The only drawback about the cabin was that occasionally there was a "sewer" type odor coming from the toilet and/or sink drain. Keep the drain closed and the toilet seat closed at all times, it helps.
