My wife and I and another couple, all early to mid-50's, just returned from The Fantasy and we had a blast!!!!!!!! This was the first cruise experience for all except myself so we decided to leave the children at home. My dw and I stayed in the Monteleone on Friday evening, had drinks at the Carousel Bar and the Chart House, and had a fabulous dinner at Tommie's (next to Emeril's). We have visited New Orleans many times in the past and it was wonderful to see this great city and its people active and alive with energy. After a small breakfast of beignet's and coffee in the Quarter,we arrived at the cruise terminal about 11:15 on Saturday.
The terminal is first class, the boarding process was very well organized, and the staff super friendly. By noon we were on board exploring the ship and enjoying lunch.Although the Fantasy was totally sold out, we never felt crowded and never had trouble finding our way around the ship to the various activities or locations.
We had a Cat 12 suite and it was ready about 1:30. The balcony was fabulous and was perfect for entertaining as well as for solitude. The sunrise and sunset views were fantastic. The suite was well appointed, the storage more than adequate, the bathroom with jacuzzi large enough, and the couch a welcome addition when we had visitors. Bernie, our steward, was always available and met each request with a smile and prompt attention.
