A group of 10 20somethings left from NYC on June 10th on the Norwegian Spirit for a 6 night, 7 day cruise to the Bahamas. We sailed from NYC to Port Canaveral, Florida, to Nassau, Bahamas, then to Great Stirrup Cay (NCL's private island).

We arrived in NYC via the Peter Pan bus out of Boston's South Station. The bus was $30 roundtrip, much cheaper than any limo, airplane, or train. We had no problems on the bus. Would definitely recommend it to any budget traveler. We arrived at NYC Bus Terminal at 11:30am, which gave us a long while to get to the cruise terminal. We decided to walk to the cruise terminal because it wasn't too far. If you decide to walk, take a left out of the bus terminal and walk 3 blocks to 12th street, and take a right on to 12th. Took us about 30 minutes, with our luggage.

Once we got to the cruise terminal, we weren't sure if we would be able to get on board. It was about 12pm. Most of us had never been on a cruise before so we didn't know if we could. However, we went straight through customs, got our Key Cards, and went on the boat! Our rooms weren't ready until 2pm, but the Raffles Food Court was open. We were able to sit there until our rooms were ready. The food was great! Nice sandwiches, soups, salads, dessert, anything you could want. The bar was also open. Drinks were a little on the pricey side, but since we were on vacation, we didn't mind too much.
