Let me start off by saying this is my 6th cruise, and second with NCL. This is the 2nd time we have sailed the Spirit. I already reviewed her once, but I wanted to do it again. You can read my previous review to see what I thought of her the 1st time. I wont go to much into detail about her again except to say the ship is the nicest overall ship I have ever been on. It was built for the Asian market so its very classy, and not very glitzy. The ship itself is in need of a drydock in my opinion just because this beautiful ship could look even better with a little tweaking. Its scheduled to next fall we were told. Its to undergo major refurbishment. There are worn areas, but nothing unexpected for a ship that carries 3000+ people every week non stop. My only real complaint of this ship is the beds. Now I heard from some people there beds were fine, and I wonder if that just had to do with the type of room you had. We had an interior room so maybe you get what you pay for, but thats not the case with other lines so who knows. They could use some new T.V's in the rooms. In todays society, a 13 inch tv with no working remote is a little crappy, but you shouldn't be watching tv on a cruise anyways right? Its still a nice touch though. I love the layout of the ship. Everythings easy to find for the most part. Nice selection of places to go, and restaurants to eat at. I just wish the shops were a little bigger. Not a great selection.

Service-This was one of my major complaints the first time we sailed her. New crew obviously, so service I thought was better, but I still had the same issues I had before. Let me say I like the concept of Freestyle cruising, but I don't like Freestyle cruising. Make sense? I just don't feel you get the service you deserve like other lines that don't practice freestyle cruising. Servers know they are getting tipped regardless, and they probably wont see you again, so they don't get to know you, or take the time. They don't get your likes and dislikes so the service is almost like wam bam thank you mam. I am not sure about you, but i don't like that type of cruising. Its just not what I have come to expect. Its all or almost all about the service. The other example of service is the soda card. Its liking pulling wisdom teeth at times to get a soda. There is nothing it in for them to get you one. Why should they. don't be surprised to see them disappear and never come back without your soda. They just don't want to get it for you. The best explanation is...no tip for them. There were 4 or 5 times I would order one and have to re-order 2 or 3 more times. That shouldn't happen. I would recommend getting the drink card instead of the soda card. You get like 20 or 30 coupons for non-alcoholic drinks. NCL has the best non alcoholic drink selection I have ever seen on a cruise ship. This is smart because its a better way to nickel and dime us. Our room stewards were good this time. This was an issue the last time we sailed this ship. Food-Is really good. I loved the stir fry bar. They make it right there for you, and its good. I liked the different restaurants, nice selections. Its just to expensive. $20 a person at Cagneys is just not worth it. $30 for certain meals. The difference just isn't enough to warrant the extra expense. That being said we tried just about all of them. Shogun is very good and more reasonable. They let you get more than one dish if you'd like, and everyone that knows cruising knows the portions are tiny. The specialty restaurants were usually an exception to that. LaTrattoria is there free Italian ristorante. We didn't try it the first time, but did this time. Free is always good, and we enjoyed it. The teppanyaki was excellent except for that $20 cover charge again. The two main dining rooms were good, but the portions are terrible. I ordered Beef Wellington one night and ordered two because I knew this, and let me tell you something, I could have ate 4 of them. One of the portions were about the size of a half dollar. Why bother serving that. Its actually kinda insulting. Overall good food though. Piece of advice. Check the report from the bridge before going to windows. If the ship is traveling over 17 knots don't go there. The entire room vibrates horribly from the screws. Its like right above them. Its a beautiful restaurant though. Blue lagoon is awesome. Perfect quick lunch atmosphere. Good selection. I agree with what others have to say though. Kind of a bad location for it. Its in a main hallway of the ship so there is lots of traffic going through there. Room service is still bad. They were a lot more prompt this time. but the selection truly is pathetic. Just not very good.

Ports-Bermuda was nice. I liked it a lot, but its expensive. You dock in Kings Wharf because all the mega ships do because of the ships size. Not much there, but you take ferries to St.Georges, and Hamilton. We took the aquarium/caves tour. Pretty neat to see. The aquarium/zoo was small to say the least. The caves were cool to see, but its a long slippery walk down stairs and ramps to get to them so be careful, especially with kids, and elderly people. Remember...you have to walk back up them to get back to the top. I got a headache in the caves.
