We just got back from one of the best vacations ever! DON'T LET ANY OF THESE NEGATIVE REVIEW SCARE YOU!!!!! NCL and Pride of America are the best. The staff was very friendly and easy to approach. The food was good. Our stateroom was awesome...granted we had a penthouse suite. Procedures were so easy: embarkment, disembarkment, making reservations, shore excursion booking...all were a breeze. We arrived in Hawaii Friday June 1. We stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. We also stayed there post-cruise. It was so nice...perfect location. We never had to leave the premises. It has shops, restaurants, great pool. We got to the pier around 2pm the next day. Easy to get someone to get our luggage. After about a 5 minute check-in, we got on the ship and our room was ready. It was beautiful...lots of space and storage. It easily accommodated me, my husband, and my two children, ages 10 and 8. We found all of the restaurants good...one tip...if you don't like to fight the crowd, avoid the Aloha Cafe. The food was good, but the people were pushing and shoving like they were getting their last meal! We chose to eat breakfast the rest of the time at the Cadillac Diner...it was relaxing. No crowd, and an interactive video jukebox that entertained our kids while we waited. We didn't see a lot of the shows...but we had a blast watching karaoke every night. Shore excursion info.: We rented a car most places. This is the best way to see the island and have a choice in what you do. We did do two amazing excursions. On Kona, Captain Zodiac raft and snorkel was excellent. We had people of all ages on the raft, and we all had fun. On Kauai, we did the Mudbuggy and Waterfall tour. It was so exciting. And if you are up for the adventure, you will see the same things that the people on the Hollywood tour see! Plus you get to get muddy, and swim in a waterfall. What a fun day! There was plenty to do on the ship without feeling overwhelmed or forced to participate in a bunch of stuff you wouldn't normally do. The kids club was awesome...my kids begged us not to pick them up until right at 10pm, and even wanted to stay late! The staff was fun and friendly. Overall, it was great, and we wouldn't hesitate booking NCL again!
