Sail Date: May 2007

My wife and i have sailed three times with Celebrity, but this was the first time on the Century. We flew from London City Airport the day before into Amsterdam.Stayed at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in the centre of the city. Not very impressed with Amsterdam, and would not stay there again.Hotel acceptable food acceptable. We got a taxi to the port.

First the poor points. Arrived into booking in hall and as we were Concierge Class we went straight to a booking in operative. She gave us someone elses cabin and card.So always check you have the correct cards at the desk. Departure from the ship. Our cases were taken direct to the airport without telling us.So check whether your cases will be waiting for you, or ask are they going to the airport.

The cruise : Really excellent ship, everything was pristine very clean, and only showing minor signs of age as you would expect. Food in the main restaurant was excellent enjoyed every meal.We had a table for two and this was no problem. We had lunch in the main restaurant four times and this was again excellent. We had our other lunches in the Buffet Restaurant upstairs and the selection was very good, as was breakfast. Our cabin with balcony was a little small compared with the larger ships but very clean and comfortable. Our attendant Rosa was the best attendant we have ever had, with her assistant. This lady was a star, nothing to much trouble. We like certain fruit everyday, and we got what we requested with a smile. The shows were good, and we did not use the casino. All the staff appear to be very happy and polite, and this does make a difference.
