With the exception of a one-night charity "cruise to nowhere" on the inauguration of the Pride of Hawaii, all of our cruises have been on upscale ships with less than 1,000 passengers. The Infinity was to be our first experience on one of the "mega-ships". We had expected a mob scene but, due to the size of the ship, it was not bad. The exception was the breakfast and lunch buffet which was, shall we say, low grade chaos. In summary, we enjoyed the voyage which was pretty much what we expected ... no more, no less.
EMBARKATION:
Probably due to the fact that it was the first cruise after drydock, embarkation was a snap. We showed-up at noon and (after customs/immigration lines) were immediately escorted to our cabin with our glass of champaign, where another bottle awaited us. Jose, our superior cabin attendant, gave us a cheerful and comprehensive briefing and immediately made reservations for us in the U.S.S.U.S. Reading the CC X-boards, smuggling wine aboard appears to be a major issue but we had no problem with our two bottles ... but I digress.
