We flew into Miami the night before the cruise and stayed at the Holiday Inn Port of Miami. The Bayside Market Place is directly across the street and there are a lot of restaurants and shops there that are open late, so it made for a place to hang out for awhile before going to bed. Check out is at 11:00 and we just hung out in the lobby until about noon, caught a cab to the cruise terminal (5 - 10 minutes away).

Embarkation/Cabin: This is the least favorite part of any cruise I have been on. We arrived about 12:30 and it took us about an hour to get processed through all the lines.,,, security, check-in, sail and sign, etc. It was relatively painless and visited with people we were in line with, so it went pretty quick. Our cabin was ready by the time we got finished. We were upgraded from 8A on Deck 6 to to an 8E on the Deck 10, Panorama when we booked. Cabin #1027. Was kind of worried about being that high up, but we loved it. Very short hallway that came out on the deck by the Dolphin Pool. Our room steward Elanrico was seen twice on the first day and once when i ran back to the room during dinner later in the week, but never again unless we called him. He was very good and we always had what we needed.

Dining: We usually ate breakfast on deck or in the Rosie's buffet. Dinner in the dining room was good and pretty much what we expected. Our waiter and assistant waiter were very personable and always called us by name. We had a group of ten, including 4 boys 17 - 22 and one the first formal night, our waiter knew the guys were going to want more lobster, so he had them standing by before they even asked for another one. We really liked the Fish and Chips restaurant on the upper level of Rosie's buffet. There is a grill area for burgers and hot dogs, a deli sandwich area, Oriental area and the main buffet. Wednesday night we ate at Scarlett's and it was wonderful and the staff was very attentive. Food presentation is very well done and it is worth the $30/person.
