Pre board: We arrived in Seattle the day before to make sure we got to the ship in time. Stayed at the Embassy Suites nearby...180 per night...had a great free breakfast. Took a cab to the Pier...$29 for two. Everything went fast and everyone was very friendly...we were in our stateroom within 15minutes of getting there. I believed we arrived around 12:30. As usual, we went to check out our room and then went up to the buffet to eat lunch.

Room: We had an inside room and it was very nice. It had a complete shower!..WOW....usually you get one that you can hardly turn around in..but this one had a glass sliding door. The bed was very comfortable and the cabin steward was friendly and accommodating. A couple of small items....the tv was a new flat screen lcd type, but very small. We are use to getting a lot of closet space....not in this room...it had only one closet and instead of having draws to put clothes in..it had spaces on the sides to store the clothes. The other thing that bothered me was that on most ships, you can control the light source while you are in bed...there is usually a switch that you can touch to turn out all the lights....the switch to turn out all the cabin lights was near the door!....you had two overhead lights that you had to turn out near the bed....Come on Norweigian....what were you thinking? The Ship: WOW, this is the best boat I have been on...and we have been on a lot....i believe this was our 12 Cruise and the second with Norweigian. The first time with NCL was not memorable....We usually book on Carnival....we believe the food is the best...WELL MOVE OVER CARNIVAL, there is a new kid in town....THE FOOD WAS THE BEST EVER...lets start with the garden cafe....this is the main buffet. We could have eaten here every night and have been satisfied....imagine that good of a buffet....everyday the menu changed and what a large selection of food...gadoda figs, a pasta bar, pizza, grill, sandwiches, fruit, meats, fish, poultry, pork...you name it...it was there...and..get this..an ice cream bar...not that soft serve that carnival has...but real ice cream from the bucket!!!...about six flavors to choose from and toppings, toppings.....breakfast, lunch, dinner...it was great...one minor complaint here...on the day we went to Juneau....this place was crowded and hard to get a table for 4....but this only happened once. SPECIALTY restaurants....there are 11 different types on this ship....we tried the lotus garden...$10 co pay and well worth it...superb service and outstanding food....mambo's...excellent service and good food and la cuccina'good old fashioned italian food...all great...now a lot of things have been said about getting into these because of freestyle cruising...we had NO PROBLEMS....we decided in the morning what we wanted to try and made a reservation....no problem....at our 2nd seating of lotus...we just showed up and got seating...so don't worry about the freestyle seating....its the best!!!! Ports of Call:....Juneau was very nice....some homeless people to deal with..but other than that...great shopping...we did not do an excursion.

Skagway ...another nice town...we took the train into the mountains....i would say this was not worth the $100pp we paid....another train got stuck and we had to help it out...this delayed the second train ride by 1.5 hours...which meant the ship could not leave on time...i would pick another adventure to go on...
