First, I'd like to thank everyone who has provided so much information in their reviews. We were able to use a lot of little tricks and ideas that we learned from these boards.

My wife has begged me for 20+ years to go on a cruise but being an ex Navy man - my definition of cruising met something else. We traveled with our two daughters and my oldest daughter's boyfriend. (They got engaged while on the cruise.)

The five of us started our adventure with an early arrival to San Juan on Saturday. We stayed at the Sheraton Old San Juan. Very beautiful hotel but pricey. $300 for one night. We toured the city using the Frommer's guide but made our way through the shops and vendors with ease. Loved the blue bricks and ESPECIALLY enjoyed the free rum punch from the Tourist Information Center located near the US Customs house. Read more
