14 day cruise- Tahiti, Moorea, Taha'a, Bora Bora, Cook Islands, Tonga and Fiji. Itinerary: This was the first cruise for RSSC with this itinerary. Some ports in Fiji were cancelled and others substituted but, overall, the cruise was fabulous. As these areas are 4 different countries, it provided a snapshot of several different cultures and economies as well as an opportunity to meet citizens of these diverse but Polynesian countries. The Cook Islands, esp. Aitutaki, were our favorites. On all the islands, the locals were extremely welcoming and friendly.

SHIP: Cabin- The Paul Gauguin is as beautiful as ever. This was our second cruise on the PG in a balcony suite. The bedding has been re-done since our last cruise with comfy duvets and new pillows. The closets have added shelving which was very useful.Plenty of storage space in bathroom. Bars- With the new all-inclusive policy, bars were very busy. Music was provided at cocktail time and after dinner in La Palette and the Piano Bar. Public spaces- neat and clean as ever

DINING: L'Etoile- theme luncheons were very enjoyable and extremely good. Dinner menus have vegetarian and simplicity choices. Most entrees were good to very good. Desserts were great. Cheese selections were excellent. Service was outstanding. La Veranda- Reservations required for dinner. Ambiance was a bit too reserved and somewhat uncomfortable. Menu OK, not great.Service excellent. Le Grille- Breakfast buffet very good. Dinner menu somewhat limited but all entrees we had were excellent. Dishes are prepared to order. Service excellent. Room Service- We had room service breakfast almost every day. Service was excellent and choices very good. Non- menu items can be requested. Wine service- We are somewhat fussy about wine and found the wines offered at lunch and dinner to be very good. Other wines were available if the wine of the day was not satisfactory. Wine stewards were very good and attentive. EXCURSIONS: We used the ship's excursions in every port and found them to be excellent and a good value.
