I traveled with a friend of mine and we are two mom's(38 and 40) that ran away for a long weekend.I knew going into this that it was an old ship. I saw pictures and fully expected some neon decor. Nothing quite prepared me for the first few hours of day 1. My cabin was filthy. The decor is far worse than I expected. I think a blind man decorated the cabin. Picture this: red metal trim around the middle of the walls, peach ceiling, blue/gray walls, mauve, brown and purple rug, black moulding, red chair with cigarette burns, thick dust everywhere, mold in the bathtub and the mirrors were disgusting. Well, we made the best of it and disinfected the entire cabin with Lysol wipes. The pool was closed for the day and the people up on deck were a little scary looking. I spent the next two hours trying to figure out how to get off of this ship! But it went uphill from there. The beds were actually VERY comfortable, and the layout of the cabin was decent. I got a few drinks and the ship started looking better and better. Dinner was outstanding, we sat with two other women close in age, and they hit you right away with the lobster and shrimp! The piano bar was amazing. Carl was the piano player and he was capable of ANYTHING. We spent A LOT of time in there. Funny thing though, the piano bar was called "touch of class" and it had hands and fingers everywhere in the decor. The white fingers were almost black with dirt, so we called it the "Dirty Fingers" bar. That was a much better fit.

The second night there was a manager cocktail party. The drinks were free, which was great because I wasn't planning on drinking, didn't pack any onboard, and the bar was EXPENSIVE (this is where the cheap ol' Carnival ships make their money!!!!) But I needed a few! The drinks were great with a good selection. There was sushi and sake everyday from 5-8 and it was some of the best sushi that I ever tasted!

Be careful of the spa! On day one they tell you that you can get 5 treatments for 119.00. It "appears" that each treatment is 25 min. long, but it isn't. All 5 treatments are done at once it's about an hour long. They try and lead you to believe that this "special" isn't good for the at sea day so they can book up the first and second day! Well, the next day, I met a cute guy from the spa and he told me that he'd give us a scalp, neck and shoulder massage for 25 minutes, 25.00 ! Great deal. Well, the massage was about 45 minutes long and it was outstanding. We rebooked it again for the next day but added the feet for 25.00, 25 more minutes. Well worth 50.00 ! It was the highlight of the cruise, I loved it.
