Sail Date: May 2007

Hello, I am going to be reviewing our recent cruise on the Carnival Victory. We sailed from May 20th thru the 27th. There were five people in our group, myself and my girlfriend (ages 25 and 26), my buddy Jarett and his wife (both 24) and Jarett's father (50). Jarett and I had both cruised once before when we were younger, but this was our first cruise as "adults", and it was a memorable one.

Day 1:

Embarkation: We arrived at the pier at about one o'clock, we all are from the Miami area, so we were able to get a ride and avoid the drama of a taxi or an airport transfer. Traffic wasn't horrible, we pulled up to a porter and he threw our luggage on top of a full bin, and we were ready to get in line to board. Just as a side note, we got there at the right time, it was raining earlier in the day, and it seemed a great deal of luggage was waiting to be loaded out in the rain. My suggestion would be to find a porter with a bin under some cover, or a near full bin that is almost ready to be uploaded. We were a bit nervous when we saw the line to board the ship, it snaked out the door and around the corner, but it moved well, and we had our sign and sail cards and were on board right around two. When we got our sign and sail cards, we all noticed we were scheduled for the 5:45 dinner seating, rather than the 8 o'clock that we originally requested. As soon as we boarded, we went to see the maitre d' Lloyd, who without any hesitation changed our seating. This was our first taste of the excellent service we would see consistently throughout the cruise. We then headed to the main bar for our first celebratory Miami Vice of the trip. We then went to the room to check it out, only to find our luggage already at our door, less than an hour after we had boarded the ship.
