A simple review.

As I get a little older I think that I have lowered some of my expectations and consequently increased my satisfaction in life. It strikes me that some of the reviews focus on minor issues; cruising is not about perfection but about relaxation and reasonable expectations. Now on to the review of the Oosterdam.

Our first cruise and the only previous one on Holland America was full of fond memories but the old Nieuw Amsterdam wasn't anything like this new ship. The Oosterdam is a handsome ship, easy to navigate with the nicest staterooms and dining rooms that I have encountered. The extensive use of leather in these areas was most welcome as cloth wears so poorly. My only comment would be the closed feeing in the connecting hallways on deck 2 & 3. As opposed to Celebrity Millennium class ships which are more open and more pleasing to the eye. My only real complaint on Celebrity Constellation was the cabin materials; orange and green cloth.
