My husband and I sailed on the Carnival Legend to the Western Caribbean (Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Belize and Costa Maya) on 5/13/07. This was our second cruise, our first being on the Carnival Valor in May 2006. We flew to Tampa on 5/12/07 and stayed a night in the Double Tree Hotel. When we arrived at the airport, we called the hotel and received free shuttle service to from the airport to the hotel. The hotel was very nice. The hotel also provided shuttle service to the 2 malls that were very close by. When we were finished shopping, all we had to do was call and they picked us back up, so there was no need for a rental car....this was very convenient for us. We ate breakfast at the hotel on 5/13/07 and boarded the hotel shuttle to the pier (which was free as well).

Since we are members of the Carnival Vacation Club (CVC), we were able to use VIP embarkation. At the pier, we purchased tickets for a return shuttle to the airport for the end of the cruise, so that was one less worry for us. We didn't have to wait in line at the pier, we were taken care of right away. We were on the ship approx. 10 - 15 min. from the time we arrived at the pier (one of the 1st group of people on the ship!).

The ship was gorgeous! Although there were urns everywhere, I still loved the design of the ship. We headed up to the Lido Deck to eat lunch while we waited to go to our room. After lunch, we headed to the Golden Fleece Supper Club to make reservations for the 2nd formal night (we ended up not going to the Golden Fleece because of wonderful experience in the dining room). We did the supper club on the Valor, which we highly recommend going to at least once. We then went to look around the ship. After a while of exploring, we made our way to our room. We had a balcony room (#6151) - I will always book a balcony - had one on the first cruise also. When we booked the cruise, the only rooms with a balcony that were available were balcony guarantee. So I took a chance again (like our 1st cruise) and received a great room. We were supposed to receive chocolate covered strawberries from CVC in our room, but we found out that they were delivered to the wrong room. So they were delivered the next day.
