We flew down the day of our cruise, Monday. We arrived and got our bags by 9:30 am. Sat around the airport until 11 and caught a taxi to the port. A RC rep and the airport said the taxi would be cheaper and we shouldn't arrive to the port before 11 since we would have to sit outside and wait. Around noon they opened the doors to the 'loading' room and it was a breeze from there. Pretty soon we were on this ship and in awe of what we saw! My husband and I did not expect to see such a beautiful ship! They told us that our room would not be available until 1. We took our ship map and went straight to Chops to reserved our dinners. Then we went to My Fair Lady- the main dining room, and located our table-the table # is printed on your Sea Pass card. After that we went straight to Windjammer for a great lunch. Right outside Windjammer is a soda card table- we bought 1 card and used it between the two of us. Got to our room about 1:15 and our bags showed up about 2:30 so we unpacked and watched the RC channels on TV to get some 1st time cruisers info. At 5:15 we left the port. We went to Key West, Cozumel and a surprise stop at Nassau because Coco Cay was too windy to tender. The food was awesome! A lot of selections from from all dining rooms. We ate at the pizza/burger stand a few times. The pool in the solarium is for ages 16 and up so there was hardly ever anyone there and the that's where the little snack stand is. From other reviews we were expecting pool chairs to be reserved right away but there were plenty of chairs open around all of the pools. Marc was our cruise director and at first we thought his jokes were really lame...but after the first day we were getting more relaxed and enjoyed his BING BONG after every announcement. We went to the Newlyweds game, the magical comedian and the jugglers. They were all pretty good. The casino was fun...during the day we would win win win but as soon as 6 pm hit it was like luck be the lady for the house every time!!! Everyone knows to bet on black always and I lost so many bets to red at night it was scary. But anyways... Carlo was the shopping/destination guide. He makes announcements about giving important information at the ports of call but really he just tells you what jewelry shops to go to. We stopped going to to his 'informational meetings'. Key West we walked up and down Duval St. and the Butterfly Sanctuary was the highlight...AMAZING!! We had a beach break/snorkel excursion that I booked online for Cozumel. We took a taxi and had a great time all day at the beach. The weather was too bad to tender at Coco Cay- we had our excursion refunded right away. The Captain could've just let us have a sailing day but instead he hustled and got us to Nassau. We went shopping and walking...then went back to the ship to sit poolside. There were points of the cruise where we were like 'Ok, what now? I'm bored.' But then always found a place to have fun by referring to our Cruise Compass. Our room attendant was great and all staff was friendly. At some points it was like we were in a live infomercial for jewelry but you learn to ignore it and move on. I imagine all cruises are like that. We will definitely book RC again!
