WEB Site We booked shore excursions on the NCL WEB site and never got a confirmation. And we discovered upon arrival there were no shore excursions booked for us. I decided to book directly with the car rental agencies and that worked well. I consider the NCL WEB site confusing and difficult to use.

Ship and Facilities The Pride of America seems well designed for its purpose. Certain areas were overly cooled. The Hollywood theater was downright cold. But our cabin was fine and we enjoyed the small balcony. Some of the dEcor did not seem to work. I would describe the Lazy J Steakhouse as early Holiday Inn. One odd thing was that we were in a party of six occupying three adjacent cabins. Each day our cabin was cleaned, fresh towels provided along with renewed coffee service. The inhabitants of the other two cabins reported no cleaning, fresh towels or coffee service. There is a certain inconsistency to the service.

Personnel Apparently, not a great place to work judging by the crew's comments. We had some nasty encounters including the waiter in the Napa Wine Bar who loudly corrected my wife when she referred to the craft as a "boat" not a "ship". I suggest he consult dictionary.com. I exchanged words with an individual in the Aloha Cafe whose job it was to collect for drinks. Judging by his attitude, he must have been on work release. But my favorite was our waitress in the Skyline who argued vociferously that chardonnay was the same wine as Riesling. Considering the dilation of her pupils, it probably all tasted the same to her. But most of the crew were unfailing polite and helpful but one senses it is not a happy place to work. Everyone seemed to be counting down their five months.
