Carnival Victory - Eastern Caribbean

Review for the Eastern Caribbean Cruise on Carnival Victory

This was a first cruise for my wife and I. We had booked this cruise in October 2003 so I had plenty of time to research cruising. I read a lot of negative comments in many discussion boards and let me say this about that. While I would agree that some percentage of cruisers had poor experiences (weather not withstanding) the bulk of the people should have had nothing to complain about.

The embarkation procedure for us was fairly smooth. Many security checks (but that is the state of things these days). We found our stateroom without delay and were very impressed with the size and amenities provided. We had a balcony which was large enough for 4 chairs and 2 tables. Our luggage made it to our room within a few hours and thanks to research we were prepared with our personal toiletries to see us through. Food and refreshments were being served on the Lido deck and after a long flight the hamburger and beer were welcome.

The dining room (Atlantic early seating) menu choices were great. I would hate to think what those meals would have cost at a restaurant of the same caliber. Our waiter (Mario) was very attentive and had a wonderful personality. We had 2 formal nights and they were both elegant.
