Pre cruise... We had a very active roll call prior to the cruise, and the cruise definitely lived up to all of the excitement we felt. DH and I flew in the day before, rented a car from Thrifty and headed to The Radisson. Approximately 12 of us met at the hotel the night before and had a wonderful time getting to know each other! On the morning of the cruise, DH and I woke early and decided to head down to Jetty Park and watch The Glory arrive after her voyage to the Eastern Caribbean. We then went back to the room and packed. We stopped at the local Publix market and picked up 2 gallon jugs of lemonade and a 12 pack of coke to carry onto the ship. We had purchased Vodka and Rum through the Bon Voyage department, and needed mixers. We dropped our car off at Thrifty at about 10:30, and waited for another couple from the roll call to arrive and then we took the free Thrifty shuttle to the Pier.

Embarkation.... We arrived at the pier by 11:30 and were onboard the ship by noon. We went to the pursers' desk and added cash to our sign and sail card. Not once did we have to give them a credit card. We headed straight for our room and dropped off our luggage. The doors leading to the rooms were closed, but not locked. Stateroom.... We had a cat 9A wrap around balcony. Our Stateroom was 7440. The other couple we were with were directly across the ship from us in 7445. While we enjoyed our room and balcony very much, we decided it really was not worth the extra $$. We spent a lot of time on it, but the balcony was far larger than the 2 of us needed. We also had a problem where by every morning, we would go out to the balcony and find food and cigarette butts out there. It was rather disgusting. The stateroom itself was very nice. It does not have a couch, and therefore we only accommodate 2. We ordered room service almost every morning for coffee, and it was delivered at the requested time, and it was delicious (except for one day when someone took our card off our door). Dining Room.... Our servers were Marsha and Arnel, and they were both wonderful. We opted to skip both formal nights. We had a couple on our roll call that were TA's, and were kind enough to arrange with Carnival for 8 couples from our roll call to seat at 2 tables next to each other. We all enjoyed that, and it afforded us the opportunity to get to know each other better. The food was very good, except for the Caesar salad which I personally felt was way too salty. I also was not very impressed with the Chocolate Melting Cake.... again, a personal preference. Others at our table enjoyed it very much! Lido Buffet, Grill, etc.... We enjoyed the buffet on a couple of nights. We had cheeseburgers and hot dogs from the grill, and we had the fish and chips. The fish and chips are very good, but the portion is quite small. Neither of us ate at the deli, Chinese, or sushi. Entertainment.... We went to a couple shows. We went to the Justin Illusion show (magician). Overall a good show, but a little amateurish at times. We sat in the first row of the balcony to the left of the stage, and could see how some of the tricks were done. The other shows we went to were shows that included the Glory dancers, and we enjoyed them as well. We didn't go to any of the bars.

Cozumel... (only 1 other ship docked here this day) We booked with Nachi Cocom here. This place is gorgeous. For $49 a person, we were able to have drinks, lunch and a gorgeous beach. We booked it online at http://cozumelcruiseexcursions.com/CozumelBeachBreak.htm We had prearranged another roll call meet and greet for Carlos and Charlie's in Cozumel, so we left Nachi Cocom and headed into town. Belize.... (we were the only ship here that day) Ahhhh.... One of the highlights of our cruise! We loved Belize. We booked a shark/stingray snorkel with Coral Breeze, and absolutely loved it. We had convinced several people from our roll call to join us, and they are continually thanking us. This excursion is not at all dangerous. We did have a little incident while heading back to the tender... the boat we were in lost 1 of its 2 engines. We were all a little freaked, because we were afraid we would miss the last tender back to the ship, but they called another boat to come and get us, and caught the tender by mere minutes. The island we snorkeled near is called Caye (pronounced Key) Caulker. A quaint, unspoiled, very tropical island. If you have the opportunity to go there.... Do! Costa Maya.... (again, we were the only ship docked here this day) We decided not to do an excursion here. Again, a group of us from the roll call met at The Cats Meow and had a great time! We found everyone to be delightful, including Jorge, whom I've heard some not so nice things about. The coconut shrimp were delicious, as were the drinks. We met Barbara the owner, and So So. There was also a tiny kitten there that had lost its mother that we fell in love with. Nassau.... (4 other ships docked here) We had been here before, and weren't all that impressed. I went to the spa for a Swedish massage, while DH went into town for a bit. He came back and got me and we to the Hard Rock to get a tee shirt, and then went back to the ship. We sat on the balcony and enjoyed the ambience. Debarkation.... Never a good time. It was a lot of hurry up and wait. We were not in a big hurry, because we were renting a car and driving down to Ft Lauderdale for the night, but it was still excruciatingly slow.
