We have just returned from the May 6th sailing of the Caribbean Princess. This was an Eastern Caribbean cruise stopping at St. Maarten, St. Thomas, and Princess Cays. This was a family cruise and our party consisted of a total of 8 people. My wife and I had a balcony cabin on the Baja deck. This was our first time cruising with Princess and while we had a good time with our family I'm not sure that we will be booking another cruise on Princess.

We flew into Fort Lauderdale the night before the cruise (Saturday) and stayed at the Comfort Inn Cruiseport South in Hollywood. Avoid this place, all the reviews you see online are correct. Dirty, smelly, a homeless hangout, drunks all around, and also a property with many long-term guests who have moved in. The real reason we booked here was the free shuttle to the port. The refused to honor our shuttle reservation so we ended up having to pay our own way. This place had nothing redeeming about it. Avoid.

We arrived at Port Everglades at 11:20 am on Sunday. A healthy line was already developing outside the terminal but since two of our party were staying in a suite we were all able to advance straight into the indoor waiting area with number one priority passes. Due to a noro outbreak on the cruise before ours boarding was delayed until 1 pm. Once they let us into the check-in area we were onboard very quickly. As soon as we were aboard we headed to our cabin.
