Sail Date: Apr 2007

My wife and I took the April 2007 Trans-Atlantic crossing on the Jewel of the Seas, with stops in Cork, Ireland, Falmouth, England LeHarve, France and Belgium, ending in Amsterdam.

The Jewel is an interesting ship. The Atrium was very impressive. It was also a nice touch that passengers were not forced to travel through the Casinos and shops to get from one point to another. Our suite was of a nice size. The DVD player with the TV also played a single CD at a time throughout the suite. We did bring a dozen of our favorite CDs on the trip. However, when we arrived there were crumbs on the vanity chair that were never removed over the 12 days.

We did have rough weather and high seas for the first four days of our trip. Wine glasses fell from a shelf and shattered on a granite counter top and tile floor. We were surprised that the room attendant did not remove these glasses until the seas calmed. We were fearful of stepping on glass for several days.
