Southern Caribbean 3/30 out of Miami.
This was our 5th NCL cruise, (previous: Sky twice, Sun and Jewel). Last year we cruised on the Jewel and were quite disappointed; you can read that review, (bobpic 3/06 -Eastern Caribbean). NCL gave us incentives to cruise again with NCL and we decided to do so, cruising on their newest ship, the Pearl. We were not disappointed; this was a great cruise. It wasn't perfect, nothing is ever perfect, but if you overlook certain things you definitely will enjoy yourself.
Embarkation to the ship went very well. We flew from New York to Miami International and took the shuttle to the ship. The driver didn't just drive; he was very informative and made the trip enjoyable. We got to the dock, got our key cards, had our (security) photo taken, some coffee and danish and off we were on the gangplank to vacation time. We had a balcony stateroom on deck 10, (always choose a stateroom on a deck that has another deck above yours; this will cut down on any noise or vibrations from the weight room, jogging track, etc.). They were still setting up and cleaning the stateroom but we were able to go in and change to shorts. (Always bring a change of comfortable clothing in your carry on bags). We went to grab something to eat, and then walked around the ship exploring all the nooks and crannies.
