We were pretty worried going into our cruise after reading all of the negative comments but we found the 4/7/07 sailing of the Pride Of America to be one of our fondest memories, even with some uneven service at times. We arrived the day of the cruise from Philadelphia Airport to Honolulu and although we had a very long flight, (11 hours) we didn't have much trouble adjusting to the time changes. We took homeopathic medicine on the advice of a friend called "No Jet Lag" which we purchased at a health food store and my wife and I feel that it helped greatly.
This cruise/land vacation was a surprise 50th birthday present from my wife Linda who had been squirreling away money for years unbeknownst to me. Our 2 kids went to Florida to stay with their Grandpop and Aunt so they enjoyed their spring break as well.
Embarkation was a smooth experience for the most part and we were whisked away from the airport and taken to the ship almost immediately. The NCL reps were waiting for us at baggage claim and we were on the shuttle bus very quickly. The driver was an interesting chap who told us little tidbits about the places we were passing and got us to the port in about 20 minutes.
