Traveled with children

Background: Sail date 4/14/07, family of 5, kids 18, 15 and 11. 5th cruise for us (4th for the kids), our first 4 were with RCI, kind of last minute, looking to relax and have some family time before oldest goes off to college in the fall. We picked a 5 day cruise so that we could also spend a little time in FL to go to Universal at the end of the cruise.

Travel to Port: We did not go down a day early as we usually do and with the New England weather so crazy, we were a little nervous but the 14th was beautiful and the flights were great. We arrived in Orlando by noon and headed to pick up our bags. Once we had the bags we were greeted by a Carnival Rep who instructed us where to go. We head to the busses and boarded within minutes. We had the front seats so we could get off quickly once at the port. Tammy, our driver, was great, she was alot of fun and started us off with a smile. Once at the port, we were at the front of the line since we were off the bus first and 15 minutes later, we were on the ship.

Stateroom: We were allowed to go to our room once on the ship so we headed there to drop off our carry-ons before heading to lunch. we had inside cabins, a first for us, but found them to be OK. The rooms were smaller than on RC and did not have a loveseat or chair but the bathrooms were bigger so everything was fine. The layout of the room did make it difficult for my wife to get in and out of bed. We found the service to be good, nothing great but better than doing things yourself, service was as expected and hoped for.
